    Hi all,
I'm looking to buy a graphix card and am a bit stuck choosing one as my knowlege of pc's is not that great.
I would like it to be good enough to play new games, e.g fps like modern warfare etc but not too fancy as im limited to about 70 pounds. I was told to get the right one to fit in well with my setup which is
    NOVATECH MOTHERBOARD BUNDLE - AMD II X4 620 - 4GB DDR2 800MHZ - NVIDIA MCP61P MOTHERBOARD
    and im running xp.
If anybody could advise me that would be great
    cheers

    What psu do you have?

If you have around a £70 I would spend 5-8 more and get a 9800gt

From what i read it seems to just about cope with some of most demanding games but no doubt ill have to upgrade at some point in the near future
wot do u reckon? aparantly the zalman cooler is really effective

Hope you didn't jump the gun to much. That seems like a low quality psu how much did it cost you?. If I were you I would try and save up. Low quality psu's aren't good. That's why I kida asked you before.

i only paid 15 pounds from my local shop so yes it probably is fairly poor,
this was only a month ago and the technition that sold it to me said it would do fine running my setup and support an ok graphix card.
so your saying its worth buying a decent psu then, any recommendations? baring in mind money is an object. i should also state that im running a audiophile 2496 soundcard as well
    thanks

I would wait before you put the psu then. I would be worried as low quality psu's die often and can damage your components. They damage competes more often then you think. Trust me I've had to learn the hard way.

Had on old pc with low quality psu. It took out the cpu ram and motherboard.

I would suggest OCZ if you need a good budget PSU.

    Something like http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Home/Product/34102/OCZ-PSU-500SXS-StealthXStream-500W--3-year-Direct

the psu is allready in as the pc has been up n running for almost 2 months. At the moment I am using it for music production and I am just using the onboard graphix chip. I will wait until i got a new psu before introducing the new graphics card, then I should be good to go yeah?

Should be fine. I would get a new PSU when you can tho.
