Buying PC - Requirements for transfer vinyl records to PC?

Hi
I would like to buy a new PC for my Dad in the next 2 weeks; he wants to transfer 100's of his Vinyl records mainly 33's and 78's onto CD's .

What hardware should i ensure is included in the system i buy? :confused

My budget is around £500 ($1000).

Any suggestions would be appreciated
