Buying the right Laptop

    I'll be doing some travelling soon and will want a Laptop PC to work from and contact home, in time it will probably take over the current desktop PC's role as well (the latter will probably be used for records and music/photo libraries and not for internet).

    What are the key things to look for in a Laptop (I would want 1GB ram straight away, for some reason the Australian stores sell them with half this), what are the traps and as I will be carting it along with me, what's the most comfortable way to carry it? They're quite heavy I think.
