I am hoping someone can help me...

I had a HP Pavillion dv6 running Windows 7, with a fingerprint scanner as the only login option. The CPU crashed among other problems and not all of my files were backed up off my drive and I needed information from it. So I pulled the drive and memory, and installed in a Lenovo ThinkPad E520, also running Windows 7--and it seems to have taken (to my surprise), with the exception that for windows login it carried over the want for a fingerprint login still. Problem? the Think Pad does not have a fingerprint scanner.

    Any ideas?

Can you boot into safe mode and do this?

You can control the fingerprint capturing options in the control panel: Start -> Control Panel -> Hardware & Sound -> Biometric Devices

You can turn on/off requirements for fingerprints for local (on by default) and domain (off by default) logins or just turn off fingerprints in their entirety.
