I am having a slight problem with a neighbours computer. He got fed up of the computer taking so long to switch off so he switched it off manually. This obviously led to problems

He has now come up with a message saying:

'Windows could not start because the following file is missing or currupt

    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

You can attemp to repair this file by starting windows setup using the original setup CDROM
Select R at the first screen to start repair.'

I have tried to do this however, it doesnt work. I have even tried using a bootable MS DOS floppy disc but when we ask the computer to boot from floppy disc it cant find it (dont worry i did check it was plugged in and configured in the BIOS).

I think this may be out of my league even though ive just passed my A+ exam. Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this please?

    thanx in advance :)
