Not sure if it's considered malware or not as it was recommended for download by windows xp pro as a alternate firewall. However, the problem is that at some point it did a update and the update didn't work or something so now every time i start or shutdown my computer it tries to install the update unsuccessfully which causes major slow downs, not to mention leaves me without a working firewall. Has this been mentioned anywhere before, I really just want to know how to uninstall this from my computer and then i'll get zonealarm or something.

Windows XP Pro is your Microsoft Windows Operating system and it does not come out and recommend that you download any other software including a firewall. Perhaps you meant you read someplace where someone recommended that you replace the Windows XP built-in firewall with another firewall.

No Computer Associates firewall is not malware and by the way, it is just a re-packaged ZoneAlarm firewall.

Also you are correct, this message does not belong in the Malware Forum so I'm moving it to the Software Forum.
