Hello Team,yesterday I spent awhile setting up someone's desktop Lenovo IBM with XP Pro preinstalled.setup was as easy as most are therein lies the rub.unfortunately it came with Computer Associates trial suite.normally I would just use Revo Uninstaller to get the bugger out.the only reason it had to be activated was to use the machine.I've never come across this installing others.there was always an option not to use what it/they came with.
So the question at hand is what can I use to get the whole thing out of the machine?registry and all like Revo.thinking maybe ccleaner but do not want to mess up their machine being on a tight schedule it needs doing asap if and when they call and they will at the most inopportune time.they had or have a McAfee account that will get put back after the tracks CA left are gone.this could be another CA horror story but I will not go there.seeking other second,third,etc opinions.oh and mbam will be used to clean up malware it installed too.being my favorite go to site for these questions I thought I would give it a try.

The above tool is for CA Internet security 2007-08.
Not sure what they have on the machine, else Revo should do well.

much appreciated corporal sikvik.there was another I saw that read tiny url something or another that a CA tech gave them( a user) that worked.saw the one you posted too though.was thinking Revo too myself.it has not failed me yet.wonder if both can be used?

 

If you use the CA tool first then Revo will not list the AV. If in doubt of the CA version and tool go with Revo.
