Cable adsl modem/wireless router

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can recommend a cable adsl modem/wireless router to connect a pc to a cable broadband connection, and to wirelessly connect a laptop to the modem/router for internet access. Thanks, Mark.

I had a netgear and it worked wonderful, now I have a westel because it came with my dsl contract and it works well also, however I liked my netgear better

I know very little about cable dsl modems, but is it possible to connect a cable modem via ethernet cable to a wireless router wan port, a desktop pc to the router lan port and and configure a laptop to wirelessly access the router/internet?

Are there any pecularities with cable modems compared to standard telephone adsl modems?

To answer you question yes. As you can see in the pic most wireless routers can be configured this way.

 

All you need to do is when choosing your router is to make sure it has outlets for LAN then it will act as a switch as well as a router.

this is the one i have but there are cheaper models that do the job just as well.
