    okay heres the deal

    I have cable internet ISP

I am currently directly connected into the internet without a router (I lost my Linksys Broadband B Router disk and linksys doesnt have the driver available on line anymore!)

I use ZOne Alarm Security Suite.

    Heres my question

I am showing NEW NETWORK with a different IP and subnet since I do not use the router anymore. I have had over 5,900 INCOMING access attempts on my computer in less than two weeks.

I am NOT showing the usual 192.168.1.10 with the 255.255.255.0 as I used to have. I manually entered it into ZONE ALARM, but it will only allow me to add it as an IP ADDRESS that is TRUSTED, not as a network.

    DO i need to worry?

PROBLEM: How do I know if I am on a WRONG network, and if I am, how do i change it. If I try to block it, I have no internet access.

Also when I use IPCONFIG /RENEW nothing happens at all.

I came here because Chas said maybe this was a network forum question, however, I did ask him also under another post.
