when i as on dialup, i had a handy little icon in my system tray, that only required a mouseover to make it tell me my current speed, as well as how many bytes had been sent/received during that session. when i switched to cable, it came with no such resource.

i would really like to know exactly how my connection is faring at all times, mostly for troubleshooting purposes. however, google, download.com and this site all list 97 bajillion different utilities which accomplish this task. i have dl'ed a few and they arent what i want, or don't work, or are too "resource hoggy".

i am curious what tools do you people use/recommend/like the best?

edit: i forgot to mention, i use win98, celeron 1.1gig, dlink router, 384 megs of ram

  2. Kodo

    Kodo SNATCHSQUATCH

That feature is introduced in Win2k/XP and I think ME too but don't quote me on that. Thus I have had little use for such a tool so the best I can do is to recommend that you take a peek here..
