cable internet problems

Greetings All.
My younger sis has a major problem with her cable internet.
She is constanrly losing her connection.
Sometines it will come back online right away , other times she has to wait 4 ever.
The cable company has been to her house so many times they get their own coffee. { almost a joke but thats how she feels.}
This has been going on for months.
They seem to have no clue what to do.
They have actually told her it is her fridge ( i do not know if the signal runs thru the power lines ) the puter is junk ( new one now.) things like that.
can someone help??
She is thinking about going back up yo dial up.
I would hate to see that because she downloads abd burns programs for me ( i have a top speed of 2.5k on aohell )

The IP address lease 67.20.122.209 for the Network Card with network address 000BDBB1AB6B has been denied by the DHCP server 192.168.100.1 (The DHCP Server sent a DHCPNACK message).

ADELPHIA CABLE INTERNET
dell dimension 2400,
256 mgs ram,
56k v.90 modem, ( motorola SB4200 )
processor 2400
xin xp sp1

The IP address that's listed after DHCP Server in the error message... is that a router? Just making sure I understand the problem

 

I have an idea on what might be wrong.

Your cable company probably gave you the same IP someone else is already using. Try looking into that and if it is that, just get a new IP and that'll fix your problems.
