    #1
Can I run 2 computers on 2 seperate cable modems, using one account
instead of going wireless? I mean is it possible? Comcast claims it is not
possible and is trying to force wireless on me.

I don't want radio waves flying through our brains all day long here.

    #2
If it is not possible, where can I get a 100' cord and splitter for
the wire that goes from the cable modem into the computer USB?

    Thanks

Comcast issues permission to use their network based on account name and cable modem MAC address. Therefore blocking anyone from simply buying a cable modem and attaching it to their network.

If you don't like the radio waves flying around, you could purchase a wired router, attach it to the cable modem, attach both machines to the router and away you go.

To answer your #1 - two cable modems trequire two Comcast accounts

Okay I went and got the Router
And a 100' of either cord.

    Hooked everything up.
But now only one computer at a time can only go on line.
However the icons in the lower right hand corner of the
screen say both computers are connected to the internet.

Below is some of the info...
    __________

    Local area connection
    Speed 100.0 mbps
    Status Connected

    Local area connection 2
    Speed 10.0 mbps
    Status Connected

_____________ (Notice (above) the kids is much faster)

    Local Area Connection
    Connected, firewalled
    3Com 3C920 Integrated Fast...

    Local Area Connection 2
    Connected,Shared, Firewalled
    Terayon Cable Modem (NDIS 5)

    ______________

Mine only seems to work when directly connected to the modem.
Not when it's connected to the router. Any ideas? Thanks.

Remove Internet connection sharing on local area connection 2.

Both machines should be connected into Ports 1 and 2 of the router and the wan router port must be connected to the Cable/modem.

Perform cmd ipconfig /all and post the results here.
