Update your routers firmware and if the problem reoccurs call the cable company.

    This is easy to check..

For testing purposes disconnect the router and connect just one pc direct to the modem for lets say two days. If the problem goes away you have your answer.

If I had to bet money on it...it's the linksys router - very common problem when they decide to fail. D-link isn't any better so don't even think about a D-link router to replace it if its bad.

Re: cable network - linksys router (UPDATED INFO)

ok so the router was going out almost daily at 5pm... it calmed down by itself but for the past week its been going out again almost daily like clockwork at 11pm sharp! Arrgghh!

today i updated the firm ware and am awaiting the witching hour of 11pm...

if i have to buy a new router whats a good brand? i had a westell once and was happy with that!

Some solid brands: netgear, dlink, linksys. All good manufacturers.
