call of duty 2 and counterstrike fps problems

on the ati control panel i put the little line to one notch up from the balanced place.

my specs are
athlon 64 3200+ 2.0
ati radeon x850 xt saphfire version
2 gigs of corsair ram xms version or somthing like that
550 power suplly antec

on call of duty it lags a lot and it never used to
what fps should i be getting on it

on counterstrike i got a 64 average fps it used to be 106
what should my fps be on that

is there somthing i should of done after i put another gig of ram in and a new powersuplly

would upgrating my bios work.

is this virus related???

You should be getting way more FPS than 64 in CS. Are you talking about CSS or regular CS? Either way, 60fps is too low for that, I think I got at least 70fps in CSS\HL2 with a 9800pro 256mb. From my experience, COD2 is more intense than HL2.

 

It too have a 9800 Pro, and was getting in the 60's fps with HL2. (On a system with a 2800+ Athlon XP/512 Mb RAM).
For Call Of Duty 2, with eye candy turned on, I hit max 25-30 fps. For some reason, it's a real hog. Possibly due to the number of NPCs on the screen at any given time.

Have you scanned for viruses/malware? There is a great walkthrough guide on these forums (MALWARE REMOVAL) for a complete scan of your system.

Make sure all of your motherboard's drivers are up to date.. I recently changed my motherboard, CPU and RAm, and failed to put the correct VIA chipset drivers on. When I did, game fps doubled.

In fact, make sure ALL of your drivers are up to date - especially your graphics card.

Does this only happen when you increase the slider?
