Call of Duty 4- guys PLEASE help, really

    This is crazy I have cannot get call of duty going and I wanted it so bad. The start screen appears for like 2 secs and nothing happence afterwards it doesnt even start at all.. only multiplayer starts.. I cannot think of anything wrong. Man, I even formated my HD to try qand solve the issue. Please help.. I have all the minimum requirements for this game...

    1GB DDR RAM
    ATI Radeon HD2600 XT 512 DDR3
    Intel board
    2 x 160GB Seqagate HD
    Very well cooled Box
    Creative sound blaster live 5.1 sound card
