Call of Duty 4 Load Issues

Hey, Ive been looking on loads of forums all over the net and havnt been able to find a solution to my issue yet and would appreciate any help!

Basically Ive installed CoD4 without any issues what so ever, gfx driver and directx are up to date but whenever I start single player of CoD the first screen flashes for less than a second before disappearing, there are no errors and the exe doesnt linger in the system processes.

next time i try to run the game it says do you want to run CoD in safe mode because it didnt quit properly last time.

what did you do? i had the same problem almost but with multiplayer not single player

 

I FIXED IT! heres how with vista, i dont know about XP:
Control panel>Hardware And Sound>Sound>right click inside white box and click show disabled devices>click the recording tab>right click the one thats disabled (stereo mix) and enable it

and its fixed! its so much easier than the other ways posted around! no downloading anything! yay!

 

hey i need help too im getting the same thing on xp i dont know much bout computers someone help the black guy just pops up and then dissapears and then when i try again it says that same i didnt quit properly if i want it on safe mode shit

 

i got all the system specs or whatever but yeh this is really frustrating me
