call of duty loading

Hi,

All of the call of duty games takes an unsual time to load up. Once it loads up it is fine. The thing is it takes a couple of mins to load. In task manager Call Of Duty is on the applications list but its status is Not Respnding. Then after a minute or so it finally loads up.

Anyone know what could be happening with my comp? Because it never used to do this. I've tried reinstalling the game but the same thing happens.

My specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0Ghz
1GB RAM
PCIe NVIDIA Geforce 6600 128Mb

got a lot of things running in the background? Antivirus apps, especially norton, can cause abnormally long load times. Other apps like quicktime, real player and others that autostart with your computer can slow other apps down. Try to keep the amount of programs running at once at a minimum. There is a program called process explorer, available here http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4566 that you can run to see what is running in your computers background. You can even save the results to a text file and post the contents here.

Also, it could be virus/malware related, you can go check out that forum on this site also.
