i am usually a windows user, but my roommate recently bought a g4 mac. he was able to connect to the internet via ethernet cable with no problem. no his browser (internet explorer and Chimera) both wont allow him acces to websites. he can however connect to limewire and AIM without any trouble. we have reset the modem and rebooted several times. If anyone has encountered this or knows how to fix it it would be greatly appreciated.

Dont know Mac's enough to be 100% sure but I would be in the browsers checking the default connections, in IE it should be similar place to IE for Win and located in Tools > Internet Options > Connections and make sure no old connections are default and if connecting via lan then Lan settings are set to Auto Detect.

Chimera has been replaced by Camino http://www.caminobrowser.org/ might be worth trying that browser?

Not alot of MAC users on a predominently Win forum I'm afraid.
