Now when I plug it in I have to go to My Computer and Right click the Camara then click Import Photos.

It does not do it Automatickly like it did.

I tryed going into Properties of the Camara in my computer nothing is in here.

And nothing is in the system try that asks you to setup the camara import.

    Can anyone help?

Have you tried installing the software that came with your camera and/or downloading the latest version at the Canon support site?

robertbiferi I can't follow the rules

I never had a Driver and or program for the cammara.

I did this before and I think it has something to do with the win7. seeing the camara as a Removable Drive.

The camara shows up in my computer and if I click it to open it it opens to a Drive Icone that says Removable Drive.

So I see I have to have it not think it a Removable Drive but I do not know how???

Like I say I can go to the Camara icone and right click and pick import photos.

But I did have it set to Auto do this when I plug it in?????

So it want do it Automatickley.

And I don't know how to change ware it imports to eather.

There is no Firmwere or progranm for my camara.

The only thing Canon can tell me is plug the camara in and look in the Auto Play window and I did.

They say at the bottum under Devices you will see your Camara and pick what you want it to do.

Ok I pluged the Camara in and opened Devive Manager and saw my Camara.

I right clicked it and picked Un Install.

And it did then I uN Pluged my Camara and then Pluged it back in and Device Manager Re Installd it.

But when I take some photos and turn my Camara on and Plug it in I still have to go into My Computer and right click the Camara Icone and pick Import.

It useto just Import the photos Automatickly as soon as I Pluged the Camara in.

That is how I have it set up.

And the only thing the Canon people can tell me is it has to do with win7. Auto Play.

But when I go to start and type in Auto Play the window that come up has a list of things and a dropdown box for what do you want it to do for eatch one.

So I go all they way down the list to Devices and under this word does not show my Camara even when it is Pluged in and Turned on.

So I can not even set it to do anything.

I do have my win7. set to Win Clasic but this is just for how it looks.

    Please help thanks

    autoplay help

    I have win7. premiume 64 Bit and a Canan SD1,000 camara.

The first time I pluged my Camara in win7. gave me a window on the system tray asking me how I want to import the photos.

So I set it up to Automaticly import all photos to a Folder on the Desktop.

So now whenever I plug the Camara in it automaticly imported all photos to a Folder on my Desktop.

It worked for a long time now when I plug my Camara in nothing happens I have to go into Computer then Right click the Camara icone the click Import photos and then it works.

It does not do it automaticly like I set it up to so I Plug the Camara in and bring up the Auto Play windows and at the bottom of the window were is says Removable Devices nothing is there. I thought if my Camara was there I could reset everything.

But I did see a Tab that says Reset everything to Default so I click it and then restart the system.

And when I plug the Camara in nothing comes up asking me how I want to import photos.

Please help the Camara had no Drivers it never ghad any?

And when I plug the Camara in and anyother USB device I do hear the Ding Ding sound it is two Dings and they are the same sound?

    Re: autoplay help

Go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs and click Change AutoPlay Settings.
    Scroll down to devices.
If you see your camera listed there choose it and choose an option from the dropdown menu. You're describing "Ask me every time" but you can also set it to use Windows or even Canon's CameraWindow program that came with your camera.
If you don't see your camera there connect it and refresh. If it still doesn't show up then you've got something to diagnose.

Personally I use a card reader. No batteries, no messing with the camera. Just insert card and go. Much easier than connecting the camera. A EyeFi card may also interest you. After it's set up just turn the camera on when it's within range of your wifi and it automatically uploads all images to your computer. No wires, no muss, no fuss.

    Re: autoplay help

In the Autoplay Programs window at the top there's a box to check, Use Autoplay for all media and devices. Check that. Plug your camera in and see if it recognizes it.

Your camera will need to be on for the computer to recognize it. You will also need to ensure that all doors on the camera are close otherwise the camera will not turn on (at least with my dSLRs that's the case).

If still no good then go to your Device Manager (in Hardware and Sound in the control panel). Your camera should be listed under Imaging devices. If it's not there then you have a connectivity problem more than an autoplay problem. Right click something in device manager and click Scan for hardware changes. If it still doesn't find it then you may have a bad USB port, a temporary problem with the USB, a bad cord, or the camera may be malfunctioning. My bet would be something temporarily wrong with the USB port, try plugging into a different side of the computer if you have a port available somewhere.

robertbiferi I can't follow the rules

    I tyed to do this.

I pluged CAM. in and when to device manager and Disabled the Camara and then uninstalled it.

Then I disconnected the CAM. and installed CCleaner and rebooted the system.
I then ran CCleaner and got rid of all un needed files and then ran REG Fix from CCleaner to fix all registry errors.

Then rebooted system and pluged CAM in and the system detected it and I when into device manager and up dated the CAM. driver it looked on the web and told me win installed the best driver.

I have autoplay for Photos and import set to Ask Me Every Time and autoplay is Enabled.

I also checked Hardware Shell and it is Running and set to Automatic.

But when I plug my Canan SD 1,000 in it still beeps two times and is in Computer icon under Portable Devices. And I have to right click it and click Import photos. I can not get the Autoplay to work Automaticly or even open to let me chang settings.

I do have HP Navigator for my Canan Scaner but I do not have PIcasa installed. Does win7. have a default program that it uses for Autoplay that I may have uninstalled like something built into win7?
