Specific problem:Canon's ZoomBrowser stopped opening Outlook Express. Then, I found out I could not send from my scanner to O.Ex.
Message after attempt to send pictures via O.Ex. "ZoomBrowser was unable to find an email.ZoomBrowser requires MAPI and compatable application to be installed in order to compose email".
Something I did and I think my problem started with this action.I attemped to send directly to Hotmail, rather than through O.Ex.It seems I have screwed up some sort of connection in the software.
Things I have done to try to correct the problem.
1)uninstalled and reinstalled ZoomBrowser EX 4.6
2)Had Outlook Express 6 reinstalled via down load
Finally I am OLD and donot understand a lot of computer lingo, and the only thing I understand about backup is when my money program tells to backup,I put in the floppy and tell the machine to backup to the floppy.
    CPU AMD 6-500,HDs 5 gig & 10 gig,320 meg RAM,OS Wind.98 SE.
    All help appreciated.

    Hiya Bill!
I'm not familiar with the zoom browser, but this sounds text book like a configuration issue. Hopefully there is an options menu in the zoom browser that will let you select your email program of choice.

It might take some poking around to find it, but that's what I would look for.

    Bill,

I have Canon's ZoomBrowser and I think Kodo is right on here. Go thru the motions of emailing a picture, when you get to step 3 (Send or Save) make sure the top option is checked. It is called Create a new email.

That should do it. You must have changed it when you used the Hotmail acct.

Let us know, and welcome to Major Geeks.

Help>options sends you to preferences which really are instructions on sending email.
Mat, clicking the upper circle get me the results in my second paragraph.
Please note that things seem to hay wire with my scanner also, at the sametime.
Thanks to you both for the effort.
    Bill

    Bill,

Make sure Outlook Express is listed as your default email.

In Internet Explorer, click Tools, click Internet Options from the drop down menu, that brings up an Internet Options box. Look along the top, find and click Programs, check and make sure Outlook Express is listed across from E-mail. If not, click on the button to the right, it should list all of your email programs. Click on Outlook Express to put it in the line, be sure to click on Apply then OK at the bottom before you close the box out.

    See if that works. Steve
