I’m running Ubuntu 20.04 inside of VMWare on a Windows 10 PC. For the setting called “Automatically check for updates:”, I have it set to Never, but it still keeps checking for updates. Half the time when I boot up Ubuntu 20.04 in VMWare, I get a pop-up with software updates that it wants to install. So how do I make it REALLY never check for updates?
