I want to run System File Checker on my PC. However I cannot get to the Command Prompt Window. I know of two ways to get to the menu. 1. Right click the start menu. 2. Press the Windows button and X together. Both options bring up the menu, but I do not have, as I should, and as can be seen from the attached image, the option of Command Prompt (Administrator), which is what I need. Why could it be missing? Is its absence a serious problem? What should I do?

Thank you for the link; it was helpful. Although, I can't say the same for SFC itself!

Command Prompt is replaced by Windows PowerShell. You can use the same commands as before, plus lots more. Somewhere there is an option to continue to show Command Prompt instead but I can't be assed finding it.

I found out how to do it from the link in post #2.

The easiest way is to type cmd in search and it's there.
