Can 98 recognize Xp partitions?

    Is there a way to recognize XP partitions with windows 98? My windows xp is all messed up and i need to get some files off it.

    You didn't go into any details about what is messed up with your XP! Depending on how bad it is and what type of computer and XP disk you have, a repair installtion may fix your problems. As for Win98, it could see your XP folders if XP was installed with a FAT32 file system, instead of NTFS, and it is already installed on your system. Installing Win98 on top of XP will rewrite the MBR and force the use of data recovery tools to recover your data. Data recovery apps are also an option before reformatting and losing everything. Some people have luck with using a Knoppix Linux CD ( bootable and self contained ) to recover files from failed XP installations. Hope this helps! :)
