Can a damaged laptop be Repaired or rebuild because I had sent my laptop off to HP, so they can fix my keyboard because two keys had fallen off? The frame needed to be repaired because every time you open the computer up, it's makes popping sounds, and when I had to give it to FedEx to deliver it to them, and HP called me up and said they can't repair because my laptop is entirely damaged the screen is cracked. The covers are broken and cracked. Look at the Pictures below it I have a

When were those pictures taken? Was all that damage done before you gave it to FexEx?

Just looking at the pictures, I agree with HP. There is just too much damage.

To answer your question, sure it can be repaired. But the parts (if they are still available) plus the labor to replace them would cost way more than a new laptop. Just not worth it.

The other damages were done by FedEx the keyboard and frame were already damage.

Well, if you can get FedEx to admit they caused some fo the damage, you might be able to get some compensation. But my guess is you are out of luck - unless you got insurance with FedEx. You might also check with your homeowners insurance or renters insurance if you have them.

Thankfully we have a local repair shop run by an older gentleman. When a key broke on my husband's netbook, we took it there. He looked up the part, ordered it and put in a new keyboard. After watching him do it, I could probably now try it myself. I just didn't trust myself to get the thin keyboard connector in properly.

In the future, BEFORE you ship something take pictures so you have proof of what the device looked like before you shipped it off.

True but I knew what the laptop looks like before.

Yes, but knowing and having proof of what you know are two totally different things.

What should I do with the old damaged laptop because I got a new one yesterday? Should I use a website that takes the broken laptop and offer your money for them?

That's up to you. If you can get enough money for it to make it worthwhile, then you could try that.

If the CPU is in a socket (and not surface mounted/soldered in) you could possibly remove that and sell that individually. Same with the RAM. The drive should be removable and you can pull that, if necessary use an adapter and put it in an enclosure and use as an extra/backup drive - or wipe it (if a hard drive) or secure erase it (if SSD) and sell that.

Otherwise, take it to an electronics recycling center. Do NOT just throw it in the trash where it will end up in a landfill. You can look up electronics recycling for your area. Some municipalities offer the service. Best Buy does too. Best Buy also will take your old rechargeable batteries too.

@Digerati Where can I get an adapter for the RAM and CPU and SSD?

I just find it the CPU can't be removed because it is glued.

Will I need the WLAN MAC if I got a new model laptop, and how do you remove a glued GPU and will I need that if I got a new laptop model, and how about needing the SDD and memory if I got a new model laptop? @Digerati

Adapter? There are no adapters for the RAM and CPU. As for the SSD, no doubt Amazon will have one. You just have to figure out if one is needed, and if so, which one.

Not that is not a CPU. It says WLAN on it so that is the wireless LAN (network) adapter.

The CPU is not glued in. It is soldered in. That is called "surface mounted" That method of mounting a component is cheaper, but also lets the notebook be thinner and lighter.

I don't know of a laptop that does not support wireless network connections. And most still support Ethernet (wired) though many may require a USB to Ethernet adapter. My new MSI notebook cam with such an adapter.

I will keep the SSD and recycle the other parts. @Digerati Thanks for your help.

If the RAM is removable, you might be able to sell it to someone looking for more.
