Can a phone be hacked? Really in need of help.

I really need help understanding how someone can have a text CONVERSATION with someone and make it look like all the text messages came from my phone number. I also really need to know how to prove that those text messages didn't come from me. Thanks in advance for any help I can get.

One possibility is caller ID spoofing which is just like email spoofing. You can read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caller_ID_spoofing

We tried that but it won't let us pick the number its suppose to show its from.

Your question was whether a phone could show a text conversation could have come from you when it didn't. The answer is yes and that is how you can do it.

This practice is illegal in the US.

If you are looking to disprove this being done to you, you might want to call your cell phone provider and see if they can give you those records.

If there is another method other than that or actually using your phone, I'm not aware of it. If I read your question wrong and you are actually looking to do this to someone, sorry, but you won't get any help at Major Geeks.

He went the route of getting his records. Would rather go about resolving this the legal way.

I agree with Laura R on this, as I have seen it done on earlier cell phones, and know that it does work! Cell phone records would be your best choice!
