I recently sold my Dell Dimension 4100 and i just built my New PC. Everything runs great and fast with no problems except one. I have The Saitek P880 Game pad and it worked just recently perfectly fine on my Dell. Now When i plug it into my New Computer, It tells me New Device installed then maybe 5 seconds later it tells me USB Device not Recognized (Malfunctioned). I went into Device Manager and Under Universal Serial Bus Controllers It shows there as an Unknown Device. I have connected other USB devices in ALL my USB ports and it picks it up right away. I dont understand what is going on because the controller was working Perfect just days ago. It also would not let me Install The drivers because when it asks me to Connect the Controller It cannot pick it up. This game pad worked flawlessly on all my Games and i wished it was working. One more thing is that.. When i first plugged it in, (The controller has a Blue Light that Lights up when its plugged) The Light kind of flickerd as if the controller was not getting enough Power to work. Can Anyone Help me? Is this a USB Problem? Power Problem? Controller Problem?.. Any Solutions?. Any good help would be greatly Appreciated.

is the controller connected properly? can you try installing your drivers for your usb ports or are they onboard?
i've never had a usb controller so i'm not too sure about how to go about it, i only have standard gameport ones.
hmmmm it seems like a driver problem, are you using the drivers from the cd it came with?

hmm are you plugging into the connector on the back of the mobo, or the ones you can plug onto headers on the mobo, to the front of the case?

Ive Pluggged it in all the USB ports front and back and it still tells me the same thing. Ive connected and disconnected the controller over and over and still gives me the same problem. My USB are on board and in device manager it says everything is working properly. i guess the contoller died out?....

I had a similar problem when I installed SP2 and my printer and scanner wouldn't work. I went to System>>>Hardware>device mgr>>Universal Serial Bus Controllers and reinstalled ALL the drivers. Some wouldn't install but 3 did and that solved my problem. Worth a try! Takes about 2 minutes. :p :p :p

I was just gonna suggest doing the same thing. Do what jdeh suggested & look for any yellow question marks.

I was just gonna suggest doing the same thing. Do what jdeh suggested & look for any yellow question marks. If there are any...delete that item, reboot & have the controller drivers handy for installation.

    Get back with us ok?
