Can anyone help me ?

This kinda sux but walked in yesterday early from work and the wife was on my laptop, nervously clciked a few buttons and when i took a look later on all the msn chat history was deleted and deleted from trashcan also (mine included) . Is there anyway to recover it ?, Its my laptop so no privacy issues, i think shes possibly having an affair and thats why shes deleted it. Which is disappointing considering we have no kids, she doesn't have to work cause financially i'm going well and seems she could be spending her spare time doing the dirty on me while i;m working 10 hour days !! GGRRR..... Hoping someone can give me a way to recover it, i tried one of the recovery tools but generaly the chat history is in xml document format and the recovered items weren't in that format. Im using Windows Vista Ultimate SP 1

Sadly, you have only a VERY limited time to recover files that have been deleted past the recycle bin, short of contracting very expensive disk forensic services.

If you are feeling optimistic, you can search the Data Recovery download section for something that may help, but it appears you've already looked at this route.

You may be more interested in the Covert Ops download section, as this may have some utility you can use to monitor usage of your laptop in the future.

 

May try FreeUndelete or Recuva, provided hasn't been much installed since to cover the traces.
