My amd 2400 chip only seems to run at 1800, i have fiddled around with it a bit but i can’t get it to run at 2400. Dose anyone know how i can make run at 2400?

Well, i really know nothing about hardware.. but could it be something to do with slower/older components in your box slowing the processor down?

First off. Post the rest of your system specs. Motherboard, RAM, etc.

Second, an AMD 2400+ is supposed to run at 2.0 Ghz. They aren't numbered the same as a Pentium.

Now, chances are, your FSB is set at 100Mhz. This will cause your processor to run a little slower than it's supposed to. Go into your BIOS and make sure the FSB is set to 133Mhz and not 100Mhz.
