Can Anyone Recommend A Serviceable, Inexpensive Laptop?

Can anyone recommend a serviceable, inexpensive laptop?

I’ve seen inexpensive laptops on Walmart.com for as little as $79, but at that price, it seems highly unlikely they’d actually be serviceable.

Any suggestions?

 

Define "serviceable".

Even the most basic, entry-level computer can process emails, surf the web, update social media, watch YouTube videos, or even generate Word documents.

 

An android tablet can also do email, surf, watch YouTube and read MS docx files and xlsx files. (I don't do any social media Facebook, Twitter, Instagram so I can't comment on that.)

So what do you need to do on the device you choose?

I was looking at the Walmart site. I didn't see anything for $79. For that price, it is probably a refurbished Chromebook.
Be careful if you decide on a Chromebook. The updates are limited to a certain number of years. It is now 6 years but on older models, it was less time. I've seen some for sale that stopped receiving patches 1 or 2 years earlier.
Check here before you buy to be sure the brand and model has not reached end-of-lif
