Can ATI Catalyst 6.9 Drivers Work With 9200 Series?

I'm just wondering whether the ATI Catalyst 6.9 drivers (the latest ones) can work with a 256mb ATI Sapphire Radeon 9200 Atlantis graphics card. I know it says on the ATI site that it can't but I can't see why not

The latest drivers for my graphics card are only the Catalyst 6.5 drivers and I'm having problems with a lot of games (ingame crashes, black screens etc) because of this.

Hmm, I don't know if it's worth the risk haha

I'm getting a new graphics card for Christmas anyway so I should be alright until then hopefully.

From what I know, the latest ATI drivers will not work with the 9200. It's an older card and the newest drivers just aren't kosher with it. As mentioned above, be sure you're using DX9c...

 

i think it works...only they stopped adding more fixes to it and stuff.... im gonna grab my old 9200se to try it i'll let you know if it works or not

im really sorry, i found out that i lent my 9200se to my friend about 3 months ago. He desnt really know much about computer (when he got his new computer he bragged about his SATA2...) and he just refuses to use the new drivers and says that the ones on his CD works just fine....My theory is that it should work on the new drivers, but recently i read the driver update changes on a previous version from Omega drivers, it seems that indeed it dropped the support...you can try it out if you want to....again im terribly sorry
