Can Bitdefender Popups Be Killed?

Bitdefender may score among the highest of all anti-virus programs but it is not without its issues. I like the way it works in the background without seeming to slow browsing, but its lack of user control is testing, and the nagging popups are a deal killer. The popups start as about once a day during the first 30 day period, then appearing every five minutes. Yes, 5 minutes. From info I googled it seems this popup is written into the program , both the free AND pay versions, and no fix seems to be available. I wonder if a change to some registry setting would do the trick, though I lack the knowledge to root around there myself. Has this issue been addressed?

So you're using the trial version and it's expired - that's pretty normal behaviour for pay software, you're lucky it works at all after the trial period.

Don't use the Free version, it's pretty old compared to their pay version.

The popup in question is the "My Bitdefender" logon window. And both versions, pay and free, do this according to other users. Not just when using Bitdefender, but ALL THE TIME. Also, because users seem to have loads of problems with the billing aspect of this program, I would never pay for it.

One of those links should tell you how to resolve that, or just google it. My memory tells me you need to create an account or you will continually get that pop up.
Either that or use a better genuinely free security suite (which never ever gives me pop ups) such as Comodo Internet Security Premium FREE

If you don't like the way a program acts, uninstall it and find a replacement. That's what I've been doing for decades.

Of course the first thing I did was uninstall it. Every 5 minutes to me is torture no matter what some politicians say. Thing is, when this prog is doing a "deep scan" you don't even know it. And that kind of performance is worth the time it takes to find a solution to the popups. So I thought I'd ask here if there is a known solution to a problem that MajorGeek testing seems to have missed. But maybe not.

You only got the 'my bitdefender' pops up because you didn't create an account. If you just googled it you would have known straight away and saved yourself time. Their support site tells you very clearly you must do that. It isn't a 'problem' it is a known obligatory feature.

Every 5 minutes was torture so it's gone now, but it truly worked in the background and gets high praise from this website so I thought it worth some of my time to try to find a solution.
