Can Connect Everywhere But My Favourite Website.

I have a Dell desktop running Vista Ultimate. My router is a Huawei, only about 3 months old.

I recently suffered a "black screen of death....with cursor" twice, and fixed it both times by restoring my desktop to a previous good setting via Safe Mode.

At first it was OK, then some time after the second reset, I realized that I can connect to any website in the world BUT my favourite.......www.teakdoor.com.......an expatriate website in Thailand.
Finally I figured out that the website was not down, and decided to try using a VPN. I can connect with a VPN. No other members on that website have a problem.

My ISP is a cheapo one with minimal advice, using operators in the Philippines. They got me to send them a screenshot of a traceroute, but they don't seem to be very competent or interested.

When I try to connect it times out. And it's been like this for days.

Can anyone please offer a suggestion as to what is happening ???

I have flushed the DNS cache, run Malwarebytes, Superantispyware and Advanced System Care....a couple of times each.

What browser are you using? If it is IE try Compatibility View Settings in Tools and see if that helps.

I just temporarily brought in another computer to use here. It runs XP and has the same, identical problem. So it seems that the problem is with either my router or my ISP.

(Just for the record, I have used Firefox, Chrome and Opera browsers on the original computer)

Strange. I have no trouble getting that site - http://teakdoor.com/ - to load and render fully in all these browsers:
Firefox, Opera, Chrome, IE or MS Edge (all latest versions on Win 10).
I can only imagine it is a location or ISP issue blocking it for you.

Check your hosts file in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. You will need to check Show hidden files and folders in order to see the hosts file. If the site you cannot access is listed there just insert a # at the start of the line and re-save the file. The hosts file is used to block or redirect site addresses.

EDIT - just noticed it's the same on another machine so not the hosts file.

    Yes....it's odd.

I have asked on that website, and nobody else there has connection issues.

My friend here in Australia (who uses a different ISP) has no problem.
My spare computer (using XP) has the same problem as my main computer.
Therefore it must be a router issue or an ISP issue.

Guess I'll try to get some sense out of the techies at my ISP, or take a long (painful) look through the handbook for my router....
    Argh.

I connected instantly from South Africa.

I doubt it's the router, but to double-check, temporarily disable your router's firewall.

If this works, look at your router's settings.

If the site is still blocked, it's your ISP. If they refuse to help you, just use a VPN.

PS Remember to re-enable your router's firewall.
