My wife has no problems connecting to my wpa-psk secured wifi, but I can't get my step son's old laptop to connect even though I just purchased a wpa compatible card. I can connect to the wireless router, but I can;'t surf the internet. I tried the windows diagnostic tool, it says call microsoft support. I'm sure that's not free. I tried resetting the winsock based on a log entry, but that did not work either.

The laptop is a IBM thinkpad PIII with 586 MB RAM, windows XP home. It will connect with 64 bit WEP, but I want WPA.

Well, found the problem, new pcmia card means new mac address. I thought the mac address was for the computer itself, and not the network card. I filter out mac address for added security.
