I have a Linksys WRT610Nv1. It worked perfect for about a year until my internet whent out. I reset my modem and router and a day later my wireless connection couldn't connect to the internet. I can connect to my router wirelessly but I can not get out to the interenet. However if I use a wired connection I can connect to the internet. I tried power cycling everything, releasing ip - renewing ip, cloning MAC address, changing beacon interval, fragmentation & rts threshold, changing router ip address, disabling encryption, disabling my firewall, upgrading firmware, upgrading wireless drivers. I tried removing the wireless from my device manager and reloading it. Also tried using Cisco's Network Magic to repair the connection

I even bought a brand new WRT610Nv2 and had the same problem. I spent four hours on the phone with linksys technical support, and they couldn't help. They just went through the basics and everything I had already tried. I've call comcast tech support, and they say it's a router problem and they can't help me.

I can access the internet when I am wired directly to the router (or modem). When I am connected to the router wirelessly I can not access the internet. I can't even get to the router set up, but my network connections and wireless monitor show that I am in fact connected to the router. I tried to ping google when connected wirelessly but it did not work.

I have comcast cable with a RCA modem, and a Dell Inspirion laptop running XP.

In trouble shooting your problem, did you change the default IP address of the router? Default router address is 192.168.1.1 where you are listing address ranges with 192.168.2.1 which would allow you to connect on the wired as shown. Also your DNS sever on the wireless is 192.168.1.1 which does not match the gateway shown.
My suggestion is to reset router to defaults and redo your connection. Should be a reset button on back of router which you press and hold, I believe for 10 seconds. Also look into upgrading firmware of the router.

I had the same kind of issue as your saying with Comcast cable modem and Linksys router. I had an ip address and everything like your saying. I could connect hard wired to the internet but not wireless. I am a network engineer so I did the same thing you did and said this router is bad but called Linksys tech support to prove it. What fixed the issue is Linksys tech support had me get the mac address of nic or you can get it in network settings under local area connection status/support/details if you have XP. Just make sure it's the mac address of your hard wired connection and not wireless. They had me put that mac address into the router settings somewhere possibly mac cloning. Can't remember exactly where but it was in the router settings somewhere. I had never seen this before but it then worked wireless after that. Linksys has to fix the issue or give you another router if it's under warranty. Let me know if this helps.

start over. Wipe the router's settings to factory default. Same thing with your wireless card. Make sure it's straight DHCP with no changes. Run everything as a fresh install, making sure you have the latest firmware on the router and your card.

I've seen weird WAPs that give out a secondary network IP address when connecting wirelessly vs. wired. Make sure your wireless settings on the router don't change from default. Do NOT set security until you have got your wireless connection going. MAC cloning isn't really needed any more, so don't mess with that, or any of the other changes you made.

Stop plugging your machine directly into the router. Comcast sees those MAC address changes and it could be causing some problems. If you can get out by plugging into your router, there's no need to plug your system directly into the modem. The modem's not the issue, but what you're doing behind it probably is.

If buying a new router did not fix the problem resetting to default factory settings will not fix it as well. Call Linksys and tell them what I said. It will work.

My brother, the problem is simple as far you can connect to your router and you cannot access to the internet that means your router is working perfectly.
what you have to do is to change the IP of your router to 192.168.2.1.
save changes and try to access it on your browser by typing 192.168.2.1.
    TRY IT, IT WILL WORK.

The reason why you cannot access the internet is because your modem is already using the default IP of your router. which is the 192.168.1.1.
    I hope you understand ?
SO TRY IT, IT WILL WORK FOR YOU. THAT IS MY PROMISE

    Finally!!
I copied the MAC address of my wireless card and manually put it into the MAC address clone. That did not work, so I went back and clicked the "Clone my PC's MAC" button (which I had already done a dozen times before). After ten days, I guess the stars were aligned and the network gods were looking down on me because it suddenly started working.
Then I got crazy and tried rebooting my laptop, and it still works. Kind of scared to mess with anything now, but I'm going to live dangerously and turn the encryption back on.
Thanks to everyone who offered support.
