    Hi,

I have a bunch of files(over 60) that I assume were my XP Service Pack 1, Not sure though.

    > 1st file is- $hf_mig$ (location C:\Windows)

    >All the rest of the files say- $NtUninstall

Can I delete all of these?

The ones with the $ and Uninstall are part of Windows updates. If they are more than 90 days old and your computer is running fine, computer guru Kim Komando said to go ahead and delete them to free up space since you won't be wanting to uninstall anything that's working okay after 90 days.

Thanks to both of you. I also found that if you right click on the file, then on the Advanced button, you can still archive if you want. The dates are also posted, on when these were created (something I didn't notice till after I posted) making the guess work a little easier. Still, I think Microsoft could do a better job at labeling these files, to avoid any erroneous deletions.

I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't deleting anything associated with SP2.

    Thanks again :)
