Hi all. I am trying to recover a work machine that hasn't been defragged for years. The XP tool wouldn't budge a whole raft of stuff and I also tried O&O 2000. This move more than the XP tool, but still left lots of files.

Is there a tool available to sort this or any ides?

    Thanks.

    Mulcherman.

Perfect Disk or Diskeeper pro is the best that i have found, you might be able to get a demo. ed

Thanks for that. I ran DirMS repeatedly with a restart every time and it cleared the lot. Very impressive. Will by the full software after the trial. RECOMMENDED!

While your post count is low (BTW welcome to Major Geeks :)), may I suggest that you change your nickname ( to get rid of your email address).

Spammers ( not MG people, of course) may come across your email address and add to the amount of spam you get. :p

Thanks for pointing us towards DirMS (and Buzzsaw) as defrag alternatives.
Have downloaded them and will try them out later. Bazza
