Can I get a new IP?

I have to get a new IP, if it's even possible. If so I was wondering if anyone could tell me how.

 

I read some where that you have to unplug your box for a few days, than your ISP will give you a new one. Or you could call them.

 

It varies from one ISP to another.

Most DSL give you a new IP at each logon.

Cable? Mine stays for 3 weeks. There is nothing that I can do to change it.

LogOn, LogOff, Wait, Stomp my feet, Pray, Cry, Get upset, Feel happy.

It is the same IP for the duration.

 

You can always connect through a proxy, which masks your ip and lets you surf anonymously

 

Well i was Banned by a site and i was trying to figure a way around it.....
i have comcast cable internet too if that helps

 

Sorry dude, but I used up my last one when I reset my Router the other day.

All kidding aside, if you are getting a Dynamic Address, your IP should reset, when the DHCP server for your IP ends the Lease for your modem. If not, call up your ISP help desk and just ask them to reset. If you are banned from a site, resetting your IP will not get you back on.
