can i network an external drive?

i'm curious if i could plug in my external drive and have access to it from my other computers? i have a 2wire dsl modem/router (with a built in hard firewall) and it does have a usb port. i'm just curious, and wonder if it would be at all safe? - sos

USB Hard Drive, once plugged it is like any other hard drive and can be set to be shared.

You can also convert it to real Network Storage by attching it to a NAS server.
