    Hi,

I bought a new Dell workstation 3660 with

    i-7 12700
2 NVIDIA T-600 Cards To Run 8 Monitors
    Win-11 Pro
    3 M.2 512GB NVMe & 3 SATA 4TB 5400 RPM HDDs
    Eight 24 inch Monitors ( 1920 x 1200 ) Resolution

I am facing several issues like Font size + Clipped Fonts in Windows explorer file & folder names if I try to increase Text size or scale + 2 Monitors out of 8 has different resolution, Microphone does not work or detect etc. Very similar issues faced by many people using Windows-11.

Currently I am using 10 year old Dell workstation T-7500 with 12 Monitors & Win-7 with no issues for last 10 years. But now cpu & other fans are making noise & age gets to me so I bought above new Dell 3660 Workstation.

4 different Dell engineers have been working on it for last 2 weeks with no results.

I have never used any newer versions of Windows like Win-8 or 10. I have to finish the current project that I am working & I feel very comfortable with Win-7 even without any updates since 2020.

So my question is can I install Win-7 on a different New M.2 NVMe SSD & use it in current new system that I just bought with specs shown above ? And if yes or no, what problems would I run into it ?

    Thank You.

I think that is a bad idea - W7 woefully out-of-date, unsupported, and superseded multiple times. It would be better to address your problems instead of downgrading to such an obsolete and vulnerable OS. I realize there is quite a learning curve for W11 - especially if you never went though W10. But is is possible. There is also Start11 which brings back the familiar W7 Start menu and desktop and for just a one-time cost of $6 for a lifetime license, it is well worth it, IMO.

BUT - to answer your question, maybe.

You need to visit your hardware's website and see if they have Windows 7 drivers for your computer components. If not, I would not advise attempting this.

Honestly, this is the best suggestion I have received so far.
But the only reason I wanted to go back was as follows & I would be grateful if you have any feedback on it.
The problems I am facing with Windows -11 are :

    (1) Text size is too small to read because I have to be at least 4 to 5 feet away from 8 Monitors to keep an eye on them. Currently I am using Win-7 with 12 Monitors without any problems so is this Win-11 problem or Graphics card problem or something entirely different ?
    (2) If I increase the Text size in Win-11, then fonts get clipped in half in windows explorer as shown so I can not read Folder & File names.
    (3) I also tried increasing the scale in Win-11, but that just enlarges everything & File & Folder names still stay clipped.
    (3) The resolution in two monitor is different from rest of 6 monitors. All monitors are 24 inch & 1920 x 1200 resolution. I don't have this problem in my older system with 12 Monitors & Win-7.

    Please help if you can.
    Many Thanks

Yes. Sorry I cannot be more specific. I am just say W11 supports multiple monitor.

Well, not W11 "problem" but it could just be a setting.

How? With the Ctrl and + key?

Is W11 fully updated? Are your graphics drivers fully updated with the latest W11 drivers?

I am afraid I don't have any experience setting up more than 2 monitors with W11. But I know there are users with many multiple monitors and W11. So it does support them. I did find this: How to set up multiple monitors on Windows 11 | Windows Central

I would not go back to Win 7 unless everything I plan to do on the computer is offline. If Win 11 isn't working for you, maybe try Win 10 (which is actively supported until 2025) and pair it with Open Shell to get back the Win 7 'look and feel'.
