Can I start and stop my computer unattended?

Can I set my computer to automatically start up, pull down my e-mail and log off? The idea being I'm away from home and my e-mail piles up to the point of being shut down by my e-mail server... Someone please help if you know of a way. I need a Major Geek because I'm not. Many thanks!

 

I've used this program in the past and it works well.
There is quite a comprehensive how-to on there site so have a read of that and then post back here if you need to.

What email client are you using? Get that to start up when Windows starts and that should be all.

 

Thanks so much for taking the time to help me with this - it will take me awhile to figure this out and give it a try but it certainly looks like what I need. And so nice it won't cost me an arm and a leg to give it a try. I appreciate your help!
