can i stop a file being deleted

    is there a program to stop a file from ever being deleted hopefully a free one

    Hi

    There is no sure-fire method to completely stop someone from deleting a file. However, there are options for making it VERY DIFFICULT for the file to be deleted.

    Answering a few questions will help figure out the best solution for you.

    How many files are you trying to protect from deletion?

    How large are the files?

    What version of Windows are you using?

    Are you using a desktop or a laptop?

    Do you have an external hard drive?

    Please do your self a favor and burn to CDs/DVDs or at the least copy them off the computer! Your problem is that if your hard drive crashes or dies, you will have lost everything. You would not be the first person to lose irreplaceable photos, music, programs simply because there was no backup.
    You should have at least two of everything you do not want to lose.

    And the ones you want to leave on your hard drive, just create a new folder, drag them all into the folder, then right click the folder,select properties and click on "Make Hidden"
    Can't be deleted if people don't know its there.:-D

    Best way of keeping your photos forever (even if your computer gets stolen, lost, or broken) is to upload them to http://picasaweb.google.com/ (using Picasa, of course).
