Can I use hardware from the US in AUS?

I am due to update my work PC which will run 3D CAD, Rendering and Modelling software.

Ive looked into the video card options as this is a frequent issue and workstation grade cards are recomended, tested and certified.

So I have decided to stretch the budget to include one of these, tossing up between Nvidia Quadro 4000 and AMD Firepro V7900.

I am just looking around now but prices im finding in Australia are around the $1000 mark whilst US prices are around the $700 mark. Since our dollar is higher than the US currently im considering importing to save a few hundred bucks and get the budget back down a little (may do this with CPU as well depending on what price difference I find).

Anyway, I guess I want to know, is the hardware the same or are there driver/hardware issues that make it not a good idea to mix and match from different countries?

Whilst I am asking, I intend on getting an Intel i7-3930K processor (new rendering software apprantly makes good use of six cores), if I were to combine this with one of the above video cards, would there be a motherboard you could recommend?

Yes it's identical, the only thing that will be different are the power supplies that will come with a 3 pin kettle type plug to suit the US 110v.

There's usually a reason things seem cheaper and that's because of import tariffs, so be sure to check with Australian customs.
