    Help and Thanks in advance.
In my temp internet files, I have collected a group of about 60 files that I can not delete..When I try to right click on them it only give me the option of "open" or "send to". If I try to open them it says "windows can not open tihis file type". They look like they are old website forum files and are over 60 charactors long, I can not copy the names of them either, or move them to another folder. Furthermore, they have no properties.

When I run diskcheck, or scan computer they cause the CPU to go to 100% and slow down everything.

I have tried moveon which is a file cleaner but it does not work...

Any help here would be great, I have also tried safe mode and still no luck...

I guess you meant Move On Boot program... boot to a floppy & try that.

I have tried boot to floppy with no avail.
These files are stuck in the system and when I try and delete them as a group it says it can not find them.

Any other suggestions, these are killing my computer....

Try these 3, all are free and don't conflict with each other.

    Cleanup! http://www.stevengould.org/
    EmpTemp http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=1575
    and CrapCleaner aka CCleaner http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4191
Reboot after running each one. I don't, but it could help get rid of these stubborn files.

I run them after every net session, daily. They are ESSENTIAL on any PC, IMHO, Bazza
PS: Let us know if they solve your problem Baz

I ran them all but CC Cleaner seemed to do the trick. I did not read any of the directions and just ran the defaults but it looks as though they found A TON of junk on the system.
Mostly bak, temp, old, --- etc...I was worried it might have erased my trillian logs but they are stil there and the computer rebooted as normal so it looks like I am OK.

    BTW-

Crap Cleaner picked up the most junk after the others were run so I am assuming it was provided the most in depth cleaneing if you were wondering.

Glad they worked for you.:D :)

I run CCleaner first, then Cleanup, then EmpTemp after every net session, in that order.
Cleanup usually finds stuff that CCleaner misses and EmpTemp finds stuff that the other 2 may miss. I usually don't bother to reboot after running the 3 as I have a batch file that cleans up Index.dat, for sure, before I close down for the day.

Which one you think is the best is usually whatever you choose to run first out of CCleaner and Cleanup. Swop them around, running first and you will see what I mean.

If you run CCleaner first, then Cleanup cannot find as much to delete, and vice versa.

Do run all 3, every day, to really clean the crap from sessions on the net. Bazza
