Can not find file

Hi, I went to Microsoft Knowledge Center and was unable to find the fix. Has any one ran into this problem?
When installing some software I get error mesage " can not find " c:\windows\system\regsvr32exe ". This also happens in the middle of some programs and locks up my computor. I have updated windows me last week . This problem has always haunted me .

have you done a search for it manually to see if the file exists?

WinXP
C:\windows\system32

Windows 2000
C:\winnt\system32

if the file doesn't exist.. check for a virus on your system. One of us can send you the regsvr32 file if you need it.

 

Did not have one a few days ago. I did a search , no file exist.

Just ran nortons, no virises. Also ran Symantic klez. and nothing there either. Searched again, nothing.
If you could send me the file that would be great, also install instructions.

just save the file from the email to
C:\windows\system

that's it.
