Hi! My computer has w7 64bit and is a Asus.
I have seen the writing "it is not a genuine copy of Windows". And so I tried to unblock the situation by starting an application. Than I restart and I see the procedure for the Asus recovery partition. I don't want delete the files in the partitions, so I tried to restart by boot (click F8).
    I tried:
    safe mode
    safe mode with Networking
but I see always the red write "ERROR" and up "can not open file C: recovery.dat"

I don't have my cd recovery Microsoft W7.

    You can help me?

    Bye bye

Sounds to me like the PC was bought second hand with a hooky copy of Windows. What model is it?

Did you buy windows 7 Home Premium? If so, call Microsoft and give them the serial number on the jewel case.
