can not view pics, and videos

    ok if I try and view any of my pictures or try and play a video down loaded from my camera or a web cam the program no matter what it is wmp, vlc player that I am using it shuts down and a window pops up and says, AppName: explorer.exc AppVer. 6.0.2900.5512 Modname: xvid.dll ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset 00044e22. I can view videos and other pictures from web sites no problem. Its just pictures and videos of my own. Any help on this would be great. Thanks

    What operating system are you using?
    What application are you using to view pictures?
    What codec package is installed that contains xvid.dll?

    What is the make and model of your video camera?
    Also, what version of VLC is installed? (VLC contains xvid.dll in newer versions).
