Friends: I just cloned a 500 GB SATA hard drive from a 250 GB with Acronis and am using it on a 3.0 GHz IBM ThinkCentre. Now I find the HDD will not boot by itself but only from a start up floppy. I tried "Fixboot" and "Fixmbr" commands in recovery console but same problem. Any ideas how I can fix this? Windows XP Pro. Thanks for any help.

have you check in you bios set up that the hdd is set to first boot in the sequence,if it is set to the floppy drive it will boot from there first.

Thanks for the response Iwunderdownunder: How I finally got around this problem is by first loading Windows XP Pro on the hard drive from the new computer as a new install. I then took out this hard drive and cloned it with XXClone (without MBR copy) from the old computer. I then put it in the new computer and did a Windows XP repair install. And that did the trick. Only problem is XXClone takes a long time, almost 18 hours to copy 100 GB of data). Cheers!!!
