Can only boot in safe mode.

System has windows XP SP2. This problem began when I was prompted by Windows to "reactivate because of significant hardware changes". Curious because I have not made any changes in months. I selected reactivate now and the screen went back to the login screen. I relogged on and it went to the screen to shut down computer. Now, the system goes thru the process up to logging in and then the screen is black. I can boot in safe mode. I also get an error message that says " Windows cannot find C:\windows\config\csrss.exe." blah blah blah. I read in one of the related threads that my nvidia graphics card drivers may be corrupted. Hence the ability to boot in safe mode? As always, I really appreciate the help I get at Major Geeks.

This is weird. I uninstalled the graphics card and rebooted the computer. I had to reactivate windows before I could do anything else. Computer is up and running. I also checked the boot ini and safe boot was unchecked.
