Can someone help me to restore, after running easy cleaner 2.0

I used easy cleaner to clean my hard drive, then like a idiot I used it to remove duplicate files, so from this point on it will not boot into windows. I am running windows 98 and right after i get the windows screne it says (Windows protection error An internal stack overflow has caused this session to be haulted, change the stacks settings in your config.sys file and try again) If there is anyone out there that can help me out Please do, I am stuck and i really dont want to have to do a full restore from the installation disk in fear of losing all of my files, and the fact that i would have to purchase another one because ive seemed to misplaced the original.

 

Can you boot in safe mode at all?

At bootup keep pressing F8 and then choose safe mode, see if you can get into windows through that.

OK so roughly how long have you been having this problem?
You could boot into safemode and try a system restore, back to a point before you had this problem.

 

Well ive only been having this problem since last night after deleting duplicate files, but i tried to do a restore and it say there are no restore points, also i noticed that in control panel the add and remove new hardware and the system icons are gone, and if this helps im running 98se.

 

Click on UNDO in Easy Cleaner and see if the things you deleted are there.

 

yes the things i deleted in undo are there and i tried to undo them to no avail
