I have a HP Dv9000 with duel hard drives, the hard drives that are curently in my computer are:
    2 Seagate Momentus 5400.3 ST9120822AS - Hard drive - 120 GB - internal - 2.5" - SATA-150 - 5400 rpm - buffer: 8 MB.

I have spoted that WD has a 1tb portable hard drive in the 2.5 form acording to new egg.

so my question is after i buy them and remove the enclosures of course, will theese drives be compatible with my laptop, and fit?

it would be real nice to have a laptop with 2tb of internal memery, and would give me a good exscuse to upgrade to windows 7

I believe that won't work. The hard drive in those 1TB External hard drives is most likely not a standard 2.5 SATA HD that can simply be used the way you want to use it. If it were, then why are no 1TB 2.5 HD's listed on their main page for internal Laptop Hard Drives. The largest size listed there is 640GB. I admit I'm not absolutely sure about this, since my assessment is based on deductive reasoning rather than actual technical specs for the HD in that WD 1TB external HD, but what other conclusion can be reached by deductive reasoning? I repeat, if the HD in that external HD is a standard 2.5 SATA HD, then you would see 1TB HDs listed right along with all the other drives in that category (link posted above).

Anyway, if you really have a need for such a large capacity HD, is there some reason you could use an external USB HD?

And, BTW, why would deciding to upgrade your OS to Win 7 be based on whether or not you have 2TB of HD capacity inside your laptop?

well, I am planning on upgrading to windows 7 anyway, and replacing my main drive with my os on it would give me a reason to get off my butt and do it.
and the reason i want to have all the memory internal is because it would be one less thing for me to carry around with me offshore, and the memory would always be there rather than, "let me grab my external".
I think Im going to buy one anyway and try it out in the secondary drive bay on my laptop.
if it fits, that would be awsome and i'll order another one and buy a copy of windows 7, if not, well then i have a prety big external drive for all my crap, and get 2 650's for internal memory.

The drives in enclosures are too high to fit in laptops, from reading about others trying to do what you wish.
